One week with ICS

So my original handset (UK GB 2.3.7) had to be sent off for repair with the following faults:

  • Call drop outs and disconnections.
  • Freezes and crashes of the main OS.
  • Random uninstallation of applications after reboot (only apps installed on internal memory).
  • Lack of signal and long delays with the handset picking up a network after being out of coverage.
  • Occasional earpiece speaker failure.
  • Occasional loudspeaker failure.
  • 3.5mm audio jack also fails to work some of the time.
  • Screen unresponsive meaning calls cannot be answered and alarms cannot be cancelled.

It came back from the third party repairers for Phones4U with ICS on, and a HUGE DEEP scratch on the main screen. So i sent it back and demanded a new handset. The brand spanking boxed phone was returned last weekend, and I have to say i'm a very happy user so far...

I must be one of the lucky ones at this stage, as the only noticable (and EXTREMELY annoying bug) is the radio one which it seems affects everyone.

The Wi-Fi is more than fine, bluetooth with my Smartwatch fine and battery life fine...SO FAR...and i'm not experieincing any of the above issues yet...

...watch this space...

The biggy for me is when you take the phone away from your ear after a call and the screen remains black, you dont know if the call has ended or what
