Notifications and SIM network does function properly after updating

I am a great fan of Sony I have used the brand for almost 10 years but after the recent marshmallow update I am disaaponited in my phones performance.

I updated my Xperia Z2 some time in April but since then my experience has not been any good at all to say the least. My phone was perfectly okay before the update actually.

Now the phone does not give me any notofication from emails, Whatsapp, Messages and Messenger until I physically open the applications to check if I have any inboxes which frankly it's just annoying :smileyangry:. I have been greatly inconvinienced by this and I hoped the new update a couple of days later after the initial update would fix things but it just made situation worse.

Now my phone drops calls and looses network left right and centre I could be offline for hours unknowingly only to find out that the netwrok went out, its just become too much. My phone is slowly becoming unusable :smileysad:, I seriously thought an update was supposed to make the user experience better.

Kindly fix this Sony, I need my phone working normally again PLEASE!

Hi @Z2Kenya, I am sorry to hear that.

Do you receive notifications from apps besides those you mentioned? In that case it may be specific app settings which need to be adjusted. Try going to the settings of each specific app and see if you can adjust the Notification settings, for the Email app this would be under Email > Menu (3 dots in the top right) > Settings > Your account > Notifications.

Do the apps have something in common, for example have you set a custom notification sound? If you have chosen one stored on an SD card or if you use a sound file you've imported yourself, try changing to one of the default ones.

Regarding the network behaviour, do you have the possibility to try with a different SIM to see if it helps?

Hi @Emir

Thank you for your advice but I tried them all and the problems still persist and now there's a new one the screen keeps balcking out and resetting to home screen especially when I'm on the menu panel.

is there a way I can just uninstall this update and just revert back to my old system because I like this phone but on a daily basis it just becomes more problematic and its a new phone, I hope you understand how frustrating it has become.

Please advice on how I can revert to the old OS, it worked perfectly.

Thank You!!!

Hey everyone,

after updating my Z2 to Marshmallow (6.0.1 / 23.5.A.0.575) in End of April, my SIM Network disappears after the phone is unused on the table or in my pocked for a few minutes.

The only way to reactivate the SIM Network, is to reboot the phone...

  • I was already in touch with the Chat support, they didn´t know this issue, but i followed their settings/instructions.
  • After this didn´t work, i sent the phone to xperia support "twice" and got it back, problem was still there. They didn´t know the issue.
  • After this didn´t solve my problem, i contacted the Phone Support. They knew my issue and pleased me for "more patience", as the software development is already programming a fix.

I can´t use my Phone for 12 Weeks already (3 Month / A Quarter Year) This is not acceptable...... I guess this is patience enough.... any idea what could i do else?

Thanks in Advance!
