Notification problem

I had an unread message in my inbox and decided to update my phone. Now, whenever i get a message, the notification says I've got two messages instead of one. Is there a way to undo this?

Try holding your Sony Xperia P On/Off button while holding the volume up key at the same time. This will result in your device turning off. Wait 10 seconds and hold the on button to turn it back on.

This is performing a soft reset, this will cause no changes to your personal settings or items on the device, however may or may not fix any bugs or glitches.
