not waterproof :/

Hey i have 2 z3 and 1 of them isnt waterproof. I did the pressure test. It was on 990 and when i pressed the phone it went to 1010 and ot falled immediately. I covered a tiny crack wirh my finger but still falled, i taped the speakers and still then i taped the mic and 3,5mm jack and still was falling down. Then i putted my finger over the strip part and it stayed ad 1009-1010. Now i waz abour to call sony but i forgot about the crack. Because 1. I dont want my parent's to know about it. 2. Sony wont care about that problem because i have a crack and it already affected my warrenty. What should i do?

Sony's local team doesn't want to take my phone for a vacuum test to check it's waterproofing because I have a tiny Crack in back glass which can make the device not waterproof. Then how can I check if it's waterproof 😧

Get the glass fixed then test it

That's a difficult one....as Thommo says they will if you ask test it after they repair the glass, but you will have to pay for the repair i presume & be without your phone for a while, or you use it with the crack but i would advise NOT to use it underwater, you can however ask a 3rd party to repair the glass or do it yourself (plenty instructions/videos online) but this will void your warranty with Sony Slightly_frowning_Face

Try this: Type *#*#7378423#*#* on phone keypad, then go service test and go pressure test. Next try push abit your phone, if the number raises, it means waterproof.

Sorry, but this has not been proven to be 100% accurate as of yet, there are a few mixed results on the XDA site Slightly_frowning_Face

Worked for me. Gained pressure when pressing the device. Tried with an Opened flap. pressure stayed the same.

I'm not saying the actual pressure test doesn't work but is it a definite guarantee that the result means your phone is waterproof.

There was varying results from people on the XDA site.........also have a look thru this thread.....interesting read :smileysmileywink:

I know what your saying. I wouldn't want to actually submerge my device. As far as I'm concerned it isn't water proof. Better safe than sorry. I Was just interested at the result.:) good read btw.

So i see some bluish stains on my z3. The phone is in great condition because i cared about it. It never was submerged into water or any liquid, never had a shock test. Im worried about sending it to sony because i dont want my parent's to see a tiny crack at the bottom left edge of the back glass. Does any one have a idea? Ill post some pictures in a min
