Not 512MB RAM

Hi all,

Recently I owned a Xperia Mini. Before purchasing that I noticed that this phone having 512MB RAM. But I noticed total RAM 310 only in Settings/Applications/Running Services.  Where is remaining memory.. Pls clarify my doubt.
