Does the service return if you restart the phone? If so, this happens with phones sometimes irrespective of how good the actual service normally is in a particular area. You may also want to try a different SIM card in your phone (from the same service provider preferably, and also from a different provider if possible), to test whether the problem is related specifically to that SIM card and your phone.
