No network available

I bought a used Xperia active last week. Since the first switch on, I cannot find any network inside my flat. The same SIM-card inside my old "Nokia" shows me a receiving strenght of 80percent. Even on the balcony, I have nothing, no net. The WLan connection is o.k. I bought the "active", because it´s the single one, which is useful, even if the touch is wet, so I really appreciate any help with this matter.

Otherwise, we will see us in the SAMSUNG forum, next time.

I updated it to Android version 4.0.4, without any success.

Thanks, Heinz

You tried with different network modes ?

Settings > more >Mobile networks > network mode > Select Only GSM and see if your phone catches the signal

Test with Only WCDMA as well

Hallo Nabeel, I tried all three different ways to connect my mobile. Also I changed it to manual search instead automatic. When I reach an area with network, then my mobile connects to Fonic properly. But even in my van i have no connection.

Sounds a bit strange and appears to be a hardware issue

However go for a software repair to see if it improves the situation anyhow

I just updated my active again, but again it don´t works. Is there maybe a way, to go back to Android 2.3.4 ? Possibly it works with the lower version. Today I was driven approx 20km and lost the net four times....

Surely there is a hardware problem with your phone.

Here is the way to revert to 2.3.4

Hallo Nabeel, thanks for your help, I will take a look where I can send back my little mobile for a possible repair. But one question, I have recognized that the "home" button at the bottom is without function. Do you know if the antenna is located at (around) the touch maybe, so it could be that something at the touch is destroyed and causes all the problems.

Hallo Nabeel, thanks for your help one more time. Now I find the a cheap solution with an aditional antenna. I simply placed a thin wire at the brass antenna pin and after this I got three rows of four for the network receive.

The strange point is that it seems, the rabbet around the board is not used for anything ?
