lee480,I seriously think you should first have a look at companies like smsung and htc before commenting anything about sony's update service. its really a shame for sony that when phones like sg3 and one x are soon getting jelly bean (and we are going to get last years os by this year end) let alone xperia u, even a high end phone like ion is yet to get an update in a timeframe what sony always calls "a few weeks".
In reply to your statement "there are more problems aside this matter", its not just sony even samsung or htc or apple even lg have problems, but still they clearly specify when the update is available. Ethically it becomes a company's duty to inform its customers about the aproximate date(if not exact)of the release unlike sony which gives indefinite answers.
I think Pradeeprk is right, good phone for low price doesnt mean ics can be compromised or delayed.
And if this continues maybe you are right people should and would shift to other phones.But looks like you are a big fan boy of sony you will stick to it.
I would very much like to know indeed highly interested to know what is in sony that intrests you so much except for the low cost and design.
