no chrome. aarrgghhh

Ok, all was fine with my update until today when the phone shut down. I read advice on here to uninstall chrome updates. So I took chrome back to factory settings. I didn't remove it. Now I have no chrome. Just a blank unmoving screen. Help! Also any help trying to guide my phone through the stress of this update

Go to settings-apps-all,scroll down until you find chrome,it should be disabled.

I did. It uninstalled again. Then I signed in and it keeps crashing again. You're sensible Alex, what do I do to get my phone working? It was ok until today and now it keeps crashing and now I've messed up chrome.

You should get in google play and try to update/download from there.See if that helps.

I did, it just says "installed " only option it offers me is to open it

I seem to have chrome now, think the disable thing worked. Going to see how phone is tomorrow, trying to resist putting whole thing into factory reset, though less scared of that than I was. If I factory reset, what is the easiest way to get all my stuff back in the phone? My using the word "Stuff " illustrates My level of knowledge

So do you recommend factory reset? And before I do it what is the best way to back up everything and then put it all back on?

You can use Pc companion to backup your messages,contacts,settings or backup on google servers.Media files should be manually copied on your PC or laptop,because they might be too much for the backup and it might freeze.
