No charging

Well, today my Xperia acted strange, rebooting constantly and stuff. I blamed new appications at first and deleted almost everything, then viruses - scanner found nothing, then browser - well, and then in the middle of checking out what changed after clearing cache in browser phone died. I plug in the wall charger (tried PC also) - short red led and then nothing, and soft reset key combination just leads to that result too. Seems to be just a battery overdrain, but hey, why won't it charge? I've looked through topics, but nothing helps. Btw, battery was about 15% at least when that happened. That's a catastrophe for me as I'm leaving for holidays in a few hours, and of course I would need my phone there. Please, any ideas what can I do now at home to revive it? Sony Companion can't detect it.

connect your phone to the wall charger > press and hold the power button & volume up for 8 seconds > let your phone charge for 1hr > after 1 hr try to turn it back on

is Sony spying on users in this forum?

I guess you didn't understand me, as I said it doesn't help. Short red led means short - about half a second, then nothing - previously that happened when phone has very low battery and I still tried to turn it on (it happened before firmware update), but it charged normally afterwards. I tried leaving it on charge for 12 hours - no help. VolumeUp+Power - no help (as phone can't perform it). I tend to blame firmware and I'm going to service center, But anyway, if there are some other ideas, I'm ready to try as I don't want to go to service actually - they work slowly.
