Hello,
today I got my NFC Tags and started with NFC Task Launcher App to write on NFC Tags. This is all working fine, also with switching tasks. Really great, but...
Is that really true that I have not only to turn dispplay on, is it true that I have also to unlock the screen? Because when I have not unlocked the screen the Xperia T is not identifying the NFC Tag. I have to unloock the screen with my password and after that it is working fine.
Is this a bug or a feature? Hope someone can help me
This is by design and is like this for security reasons much like how files cannot be sent/received without input on the phone itself.

It's very simple. Just disable screenlock in settings--security and download this app in the Play store
This NFC tagger works with the screen off. And you can retag existing tag like bank cards etc.
I also downloaded an app called Gravity off pro. It automatically turns off the screen when you put it in your pocket or bag. Unfortunatelly only the payed version works on the Xperia T. But it's just 1 euro so it's not too expensive.
I haven't got any tags as I can't see how I would possibly use them, but the NFC feature looks interesting. However ever since I have had this phone I have been trying in vain to get it to work as on occasion my wife has wanted to send me a photo from her phone so I tried to use the NFC feature. Nobody has been able to help so far (either here or on the Sony helpdesk chat - Orange as always says 'Nobody uses that so don't worry'), perhaps somebody here knows.
It makes all the right noises when I hold a Galaxy S3 back to back with mine, and it says 'touch to beam' which I do. On my screen it then always says 'play store' at the top and 'item not found, retry'. I'm not sure why it says 'play store' as I don't play games on it - I thought it was supposed to be a serious phone.
With this retag app (previous post above) you can use your existing rfc tag to make the phone do some tasks. If you use an accesscard for your work or a card fr the underground or what ever. you can use it.
For example, if you have an acces card for your work, you can program the phone to enable, wifi, disable network, open app etc. etc. This will not alter the info on your access.
I have a public transport card and I am using it now to start bluetooth en musicplayer, just bij holding it near my pocket and when I'm done I do it again and the phone goes back to normal
