NFC does not recognize TAG

Check if you have NFC enabled and phone is in unlocked state. Z3-series doesn't display NFC icon when enabled/disabled.

I don't know how to help you :(. Before answering your question I tried to read old NX1 tag and it worked fine, detected "Home" and launched Smart Connect.

Maybe try to reset Smart Connect settings? Of course you will need to re-enter all your smart settings.

Welcome to the community.

I would suggest checking to see if this is a potential hardware problem. To use Xperia Diagnostics

Go to Settings > About phone > Diagnostics.

Tap Test device.

Select the NFC

Follow the on-screen instructions.

Could you let us know what the results of that are?

If it fails the test have a chat with your contact your Local support team as it will need to be serviced.
