NFC cannot turn GPS on

I have an Xperia S with Android upgraded to ICS and I have a problem with NFC. I decided to set a tag to start SatNav and turn GPS on (as shown in the glossy adverts!), and no option to turn GPS on.

Is this a bug? Surely must benot tuen GPS on a simple fix and absolutely necessary to get the full use of the NFC tags.

Any news from Sony?

Have you made sure that you have activated the GPS-functions in the settings menu? You can easily set it up by following the steps below in your phone.

Settings - Location services - Mark the boxes for GPS satelites

with an Xperia S and ICS installed, you cannot set "turn GPS on" in the SmartTags App,

because there is no such option.

Ive read that only system apps can turn GPS on on Android 4.0 (ICS), so this is a bug in the Smart Tags App.

Can Sony confirm this? If so will a new version of the SmartTags App be released to deal with it?
