My phone has a really bad batterylife as well (Z5c) since brand new, it finally died they otherday completely and I had it sent away for repair under warrently, however after getting the phone back, working fine, with a replaced pcb, the battery life is still terrible.
While in aeroplane mode the phone batterly lasts fine however anything else and it is useless.
Without wiifi or 3/4g or gps or anything and no more than 10mins screen on time, the phone is lucky to last 15-16hours, before the replacement parts this was closer to 12hours. Needless to say if I use wifi or actually use the phone the drops even faster.
This problem has perisisted sinnce new, the phone is completely up to date (through computer) and has only stock apps with everything possible disabled.
Before I try get it sent away again I am testing it with/without the SIM card currently but this should make much of a difference.as same sim, same location, same use my z1 lasts a whole week.
Any ideas on what the problem could be before I send it away again, given the positive effect of airplane mode on the phones battery life would be much appreciated.
Cant currently post a picture as the phone is flat, and phone charge im testing sim stuff still, and since repair and reset there havent been more than a few charge cycles.
thanks
Hi @PoorBattery,
Have you checked what it is that uses the most power in your phone? Charge your phone to 100%, activate mobile data and everything you wish to be active in your phone (GPS and so on) and use it until there is about 10% charge left. Then open Settings > Battery and tap the battery icon. Here you should see a list of your battery use since the last full charge. What is at the top of this list?
heres an examaple you can see how the battery doesnt drop in aeroplane mode then when its turned off, it plummits rapidly.
furthurmore you can see that the battery use statistics dont add up to 100%, or even close to that.
okay I removed the SIM card and the phone has only dropped 5% in the last 24hours, so it mustbe related to the signal i guess although it still doesnt explain why there is somuch battery % drain missing from the stattisitcs.
Now I guess I have to try every SIM avalible in New Zealand and see if any work better, otherwise I will have to throw this phone away if I can't return it
