New memory card

I am think of getting a bigger memory card for my X10 in addition to the 8Gb card that came with the phone as standard.

Do I need to format the new memory card and if so, what do I do?

Yes, it's a good idea to format a new memory card, to get rid of any glitches that may cause problems.It's best to do this on a PC using a USB memory card reader (which you can get very cheaply from places such as Amazon) and using the right-click, select to format the card in FAT 32 mode.
