I keep getting hundreds of message- ad message  from net work(JOBS=54701-FREE CALL) My network provider is  vodofone

Repeated complaints from them doesn"t solve the problem please help

I have a Sony Ericsson X2 on the UK Vodafone network.

I keep getting "message from Network" messages sent to my phone as a pop up message with the question "Dismiss" or "Save". Saving the message add the message to my text message in box.

The messages are the area code eg "0208" "01737" etc they are especially anoying when travelling as you get an audio alert each time you change from one area code to another.

Please advise how I disable these messages

If you have the "Reception" and "Cell information" options in your Message settings, turn these off.

I can't find any settings for "Reception" or "Cell Information" - any idea where I can fin this on the Xperia X2?

Not sure but you can try the Communication manager under Settings.

Dr Chris,

All Communication Manager (under settings) gives is the abilty to switch off:

Phone Radio

Bluetooth

Wif-fi

Media Server

Data Connection

Microsoft Direct Push

TV Out

I've been through every menu on the phone and can see no reference to Cell Info or Area Info.

Press Start-Settings-Personal-Phone. Select Network broadcast (last tab) and disable it.
