Neo v display problem

My Neo V screen display is getting on and off by itself every few minutes. I shut down the phone and took out battery, sd card, sim and after some time put them back and re-started the phone, but that made no difference.This problem started today only( OS is GB 2.3.4). Can anyone tell me the reason and cure for it?

Have you tried repairing/resetting the software in your phone via PC Companion? If not, that would be my first tip.
