My Z1's USB cable port cover/vent is slightly dented, what do I do? is it still waterproof?

When I had just got my z1 phone I must have done something by accident when trying to open my USB port cover as now the end of it leading to the memory card slot cover has a slight dent in it making it look a bit wonky and open at the end if I turn the phone on its side, is this top area of it crucial as in could water get through it if I put it in water? (The phone is waterproof as long as all vents are shut).
I've taken it to my Vodafone shop where i bought it but hey couldn't help they just said it could go into repair but that will cost a lot. So my questions are - Is it going to be okay and will still work fine underwater (as I noticed there's some block thing underneath the cover that goes over the hole of the USB port, what could I do to fix it (sensible answers)? and are there any phone cases for Z1 that would cover this part of the phone? (In the UK and can you name the kind please)

Would be big inconvenience if there's no way to get it fixed as in a week I'm going on holidays and wanted to use the phone there for swimming pool etc (main reason I got it was for the waterproof factor) , thank you so much if you can help

I know is too late, but if you fix it, my recomendation is to go to the magnetic cable for charge.

So you don't have to open it all the time.

I changed to that, and for manage pictures and music use WIFI connection.

Slow but work.

as far as you dont sure about water proffing better dont risk your phone

however you can contact sony here for information about repair or its cost

The cover can ensure waterproof mainly owes to the Silicon seal underneath the cover, if you are sure they are complete, your cover still works.

And if you still worried a lot, you can replace a new Xperia Z1 USB port cover by the video.
