My Sony Xperia L wont connect with my laptop, but it connects with other PC s

I conncted my Sony Xperia L with my HP Probook 4540s, in the initail moment it took sometime and then gave a message in the lap that the device is not correctly installed. And when i connect it back, then no message or notification coming from the laptop nor the phone. The phone is not even charging

Then i connected it to my sisters lap Pavillion g6, it didnt take even a minute to recognize this as Sony L

My phone works well with the TV too

Please help me to find a fix for this soon

Which version of Windows do you have in your PC? Is Windows Media Player installed in your computer?

Hey I need help. My xperia L cannot connect to my PC tough it connects with other PC's. I have tried uninstalling the driver but of no use.when I connect the phone to my PC, PC companion shows that it is installing the device driver but when I open PC companion ,it does not detects my device.
