I Own a Xperia tipo st21i phone.Yesterday i heard that new firmware update has been released and i tried to update it using pc companion. After download was completed,During the install of update it showed application not responding window in my windows 8 screen.I was worrried and waited for 3 hours. But no use. Then i disconnected my phone and used sony update service to update my phone. It downloaded some 300 MB data and then hangs at installation screen. After 20 minutes it says installation failed please try again or else contact support. My phone is stilll under warranty and what should i do?
I have bought it from a reseller who bought it from an authorised dealer.Bought it 6 months ago.It says it has 1 year warranty. So what should i do?
Should i go to service center with proof of purchase(bill) and phone box? or should i got to reseller?
I would try a repair one last time as per the below steps and if that fails I would advise contacting the reseller unless you have the original proof of purchase (the one the reseller got).
1. Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software and install it on your PC.
2. Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update. Note! For some models you will be prompted to do a backup prior to the update and then restore.
3. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
4. Phone Software Update.
5. Start.
6. Repair Phone
7. Continue
8. Accept data removal
9. Next
10. Wait for prepare
11. Select Phone
12. Follow the connection steps
