my phone shuts down while charging

it pisses me off... it's the second time it happens...
last night, when I went to bed I plugged my phone at the charger. this morning I was woken up by my mom cause my phone was closed. I reopened it and it seemed normal... the opening and everything... what the **bleep** is happening???

It happens to me once in awhile... My.daughter was late 2 times last month because of that. Do you have an idea why it keeps doing it?
