my Internet stopped function on Xperia L after software update

I recently responded to a software update request and afterwards ( downloading the updates) my internet connection stopped working. I can only access the internet via wi-fi and this is not readily accessible and not effective.  please come to my rescue I am a new user. 

my second issue is that my Sony PC companion is prone with error codes and this makes it difficult to use the PC to download software updates - Can you help also

Please try the following first.

Menu > Settings > Xperia > Internet Settings > Accept Disclaimer > Choose network carrier.

Once the settings have downloaded, try using the internet.
