my Camera wont work..

Iv had my xperia z1 compact for a while now, and the only issue i find is that my camera work sometimes and sometimes it does not, i dont know if it is a hardware problem or the os, can someone give me some help? Thanks.

Settings > apps > all > camera > clear data > restart your phone > try again

I just did that and now every time I attempt to use my camera it just say "unfortunately camera has stopped working" how do I fix this
