My camera keeps popping up

I was using my Xperia Z3 compact fine but one day it just went crazy. The camera keeps popping up. Even when I do nothing or I'm in the middle of some other apps. I don't know why it happens. Does anyone have an idea and know how to fix it? Thank you very much!

Welcome to the community,

Try clearing out the Camera application first.

Menu > Apps > All > Camera > Clear Cache > Clear Data

Let us know if the issue continues.

I tried both and they didn't work. I think it has something to do with the hardware. I took my phone to the pool and it started acting weird since that. I thought it supposed to be waterproof, guess I have to be careful with water from now on. I'm taking it to the Sony store for a check up. Hope they can fix it without formatting my stuff

I have the same problem with my xperia z3 compact! It's driving me crazy, and started when i took my phone with me jetskiing the other day! At First it wouldn't turn on for 2 days, and then the camera problem. I mean isn't it supposed to be waterproof? 😔

This is happening to me with my xperia z3 compact D5803 running android 5.1.1.  I recently dropped my phone outside getting out of my car, and ever since the camera keeps popping up.  This happens when I'm using my phone, checking my email, using the chrome browser, and even when it's sitting on the table undisturbed.  So for now, I've "disabled" the camera in the app menu and it seems to stop the issue.  But now I don't have the native camera app.  So, I downloaded Camera FV-5 Lite just so I had the ability to take photos.  Interestingly, whenever I open that app, it immediately starts taking photos as if I'm holding down the side camera button on the phone.  Once I actually tap on the screen to "take" a photo, the FV-5 camera app stops taking photos and everything settles down.  What can be done to get my phone working normally again?  Thanks.

So my camera is working properly right now. I think it was because I soaked my phone in water without closing the micro SD cap properly. I turned my phone off and threw it in the rice bag so it can absorb the water out.
For the dropping part I don't know. Try to smack the phone to your hand. I mean I'm not being sarcastic it's already broken so either way the try wouldn't hurt. Smacking it to your hand works with my TV remote and my phone sometimes too, when it's acting weird. Turn it off for a couple hours then try turn it on again. If it doesn't help, u gotta bring it to the repair center. But I drop my phone alllllll the time so it's kinda weird when it acts like that when you drop it

well my xperia C3 is experiencing the same problem yet nth happen to my phone before...it was so annoying till i disable my camera app for nw....
