My Xperia P's touch screen is not working for the past 2 days.. I tried reboot button by holding Lock/Unlock button and Volume Up button.. After restarted also the same problem remains.. This problem occurs suddenly. No hitting or falling. Before getting onto the bike it was in good working condition. When i got down from the bike i couldn't unlock the screen because of touch not working.. I made enquiry in the market. They are saying i have to change the touch hardware which is costs 7000Rs. Is there any other way to reset the touch screen to normal???
Hi, alexdon
I updated the software by following the instructions on the screen only..
And i noticed, while the updation, it said "Your phone has the latest version of the software. If you experience any problem this updation may fix it"
What might have went wrong??
It means you already had the latest software,it only reinstalled a fresh one.I think you should take your phone to sony centre.
Hi Arun,
Is your problem solved ? I have the same problem with my xperia P. Exactly the same. I did everything what you did but the problem is not resolved.
Then I tried this
1. Remove the sim card.
2. Hold the power key and volume up for more than 15 seconds to shut it down completly. Please note that you dont have to restart, you have to shut it down.
3. Start it
4. And the problem is solved.
After that I inserted the sim card and it worked fine for two days.. but again same problem ..
I wan the permament solution.

This problem might have occured as a result of undue pressure on the screen may be while u were riding ur bike wearing a very tight jeans or something cos one of my friend too had the same issue after putting the mobile in his pocket and riding a bike. It internally damaged the touch sensors. Hope urs is just a software issue. best of luck.
