I have seen some other posts with this problem and it appears to be some hardware issue with MW600.
If you've still got it within warranty, please leave it in for repair.
I posted this elsewhere, but I'll re-post in the hopes that it helps:
I had the same problem. Saw it a few places online and figured out a fix that seemed to work for me.
If anyone else tries this, please not if it worked for you or not.
The problem is that although the unit is charged, the power button seems to do nothing. The reset procedure that Sony recommends is not possible as the device never powers on.
Although the device will not power on normally, plugging it in DOES light up the screen and show the charge status.
What I did was this:
Hope this helps someone!
I actualy have two of these. Ordered one when I bought my X10i, not knowing it comes with the phone aswell. Now both have the startup problem and I tought that was it.
But I tried holding the power putton when charging and pulling out the cord. (As you said.) It actualy worked (with one of them). Thanks!!! Now I can listen to radio at work again 🙂
Hello People!
I Fixed my MW600...
WHAT HAPPEND?
- I was listening music and it fell from my arm for the chair, about 30cm height and after that, it not power again...
HOW I FIXED IT?
- I had to disassembled it. I had to remove its battery, spinning a little the battery and put its back. I pushed the power button and it worked...
Follow this video, step by step, for disassembly the mw600.

Good Look!
The process did NOT work for me.
