Having weird issues with the Equaliser(s) on my new Xperia M4 Aqua, which is quite hard to explain.
When I'm listening to music via my music player app I have the option of which Equaliser I want to apply to the sound, however only the one built in to the device under "Audio Settings" actually works.
I use the Shuttle+ music app, and the EQ built into it is great for what I want. I've tried using other Music Players, including the default "Music" app which comes with the phone and the same thing happens; only the Audio Settings Equaliser actually does anything to the outputted sound. I've also tried downloading separate Equalisers, but to no avail.
The ClearAudio+ option works, if that's any help. I'd just put up with the Sony EQ, but I don't find it very good tbh.
The phone is fairly new so I'm seriously considering returning it if won't do what I want. I use it for music a lot, so this is a big issue for me!
if you are using third party apps, you have to contact the app developers regarding compatibility and/or any issues.
But it's not just one third party app, it's all of them. It's as if the system audio overrides all other equalisation. Short of doing a factory reset then I'm not sure what else I can do.
you could record a video > upload it to youtube > post the link here or contact your Local support
Here's a video I did using the screen recording, showing my issue.
Thanks!
I think I understand now, you are trying to use third party equalizers but they aren't working, if that's so then you will have to contact the app/EQ developers regarding this.
But it's not just one app from any one developer that's not working- it's all of them! The fault is obviously something to do with the Xperia software rather than ALL the apps themselves. Is there no technical data I can send from the phone or anything that would help solve this? I will try a full reset and reinstall everything from scratch tomorrow, but if I can avoid that it'd be preferable.
Thanks
The users in that thread seem to have a similar issue in that the built-in Sony EQ no longer works on all apps.
My issue is that the Sony EQ is the ONLY EQ that works, and that any other EQ (either standalone EQ apps or EQs built into music player apps themselves) is non-functional.
Erased everything from the phone, formatted and factory reset; Started again completely.
Problem still persists.
Not happy at all with the product I've got and I'll be returning it as faulty and upgrading to a similar-priced Samsung within the week if this EQ problem isn't addressed by someone with the technical know-how to actually solve it.
