Music player stuttering problem

Hi

Has anyone experienced stuttering when listening to music with the Walkman app?

• problem occurs with different headphones
• occurs when playing songs from both SD card and internal storage

Any thoughts?

Make sure you have the latest available update for your device:

If you have the latest update I recommend that you go into settings > apps > the "all" tab > Walkman > clear data. If you have two Walkman apps, then clear data for both of them.

Restart your phone and try again.

Is it the same with all the songs/file format you are playing?

Edit: i just downloaded winamp, same problem.

Me too facing the same issue, the music just stops playing the player still indicates its playing but can't hear anything, then I'd stop the player and start again and the different song starts playing from which I started listening to music.

Which build number are you running on?
Have you tried reinstalling the phone software using SUS?

How do I reinstall the phone software? Is that a reset?

And I did some more testing: problem doesn't occur when playing music without a headset. So I guess it's rather the hardware than the software, right?

I have to take back that last one: it does occur when playing without a headset.

Frequency and intensity are very irregular: sometimes I can listen to 4-5 songs without any problems, but then from the moment the first stutter appears, it usually keeps coming. Last song I was playing (without headset) just stopped in the middle, then started playing again (from the moment it stopped).

I reinstalled the software, no progress. Please tell me what to do.

I think I know what the problem is: I found out that the dropping/picking up of wifi signals interferes with other apps. When I'm listening to music and the phone drops/connects the signal, the music stutters. When I'm playing a game, same problem: visuals tend to slow down... Really annoying.

Just in case somebody from Sony should be interested of course.
