Are you sure the Nokia is entering the "Register Mode" in order for Xperia P to find it?
Does it work with the same process on other Phones?
register mode????? it automaticly pair wth other of my phn as soon as i open bluetooth,, bt my xperia p dnt find bluetooth devicee:(
be sure that both device's visibility mode is on.
Have the same nokia headsets...its works perfectly for me
what you do is pair the phone with your headsets first
-just press and hold the call button on the headset till you get a "blue" blinking light
-while the blue light is blinking on the headset, search the headsets with your phone
-should work
tell me if you have any problems

done the same but my phone doesnot search for headset
Are you running on Gingerbread or ICS?
If you're running on ICS you will need to tap the text Bluetooth in settings to access Bluetooth settings. Here you can search for devices.
Make sure that the headset is put in pairing mode before searching for it.
