Multiple Problems with Xperia Z

Hello Forum Members,

Recently I began to experience the following problems with my Xperia Z:
Power button OCCASIONALLY doesn't turn off screen
Volume down button doesn't work
Device stuck in safe mode

The above problems started after I made a particularly long phone call (of 10 mins).

I considered two possible causes:
Water damage
Software problems

The indicators under all flaps except the headphone flap are white. The indicator under the headphone flap is an extremely faint pink in the top half and white in the bottom. This suggests that only slight moisture was there (which is no surprise since I use my headphones a lot and condensation probably triggered the slight discoloration). As the indicator color change is so faint I ruled out water damage.

I have tried a factory reset and a software repair, however neither have solved the problems listed. In fact, afterwards the home screen keeps changing to a layout I didn't define after restarts or after I turn the device on and when going on the tabs page of Google Chrome, my phone freezes then restarts. This suggests there is a software problem.

The last possible solution I am considering is sending my device to a Sony Repair Centre. However this decision is difficult to make due to the number of bad customer experiences I have read.

What I hope to gain out of the replies are:
Possible solutions to the problems I have mentioned
The likelihood that my device will be repaired under warranty (I have only had my device for 1 month)
How red/pink do the indicators have to be to show significant water contact/damage
Personal experiences with Sony Repair Centres (preferably in the UK)

Many thanks in advance.

You should take it to a Sony repair center

Have you noticed whether your casing at the back of your camera is lifted?? This may be the reason why the head phone flaps are slighty red.. You phone may no longer remain water resistant if this happened
