Multiple Message Heads?

Multiple Message Heads?

Hi all!

I recently purchased an Xperia Z5, and its the best phone ever. I'm never switching away from Sony!

I just have one question:

I've recently noticed that when I receive messages, they will sometimes spread out into multiple message heads when I open the messages App.

For example, I recieved a message from my mum who reminded me of something and she said 'I sent it to you in a message yesterday', but I couldnt find it. I realised that there was a second message head and I had recieved it there. Its now spread on to different people, and I remember that on my previous Z3, I only ever had one message head per person, does that make any sense?

Has any one else experienced this, and if so, know how to fix it? I run my own business, so I recieve messages everyday, and its annoying to have to filter through different message heads all the time.

I appreciate any help!

@LadyVyvyan

That will happen if she created a group, also do you experience the same with all contacts or few? if the later check which phones they are using and which messaging app they are using.

Hi LadyVyvyan,

Welcome to the community,

When you access your contacts are you seeing multiple entries of the contacts that seem to be doubling up?

Hello!

Its not in my contacts lists that I'm getting the doubling up, but in my messages.

Ill attach a picture, as you can see the two that I have under Mama. Thats my mum. I actually have 3 message heads under her name, 2 for my sister and 1 for my boyfriend.

I hope this picture helps a little!

Thanks for the reply LadyVyvyan, I believe I have a grasp of the issue, I am just trying to clarify if there are duplicate contacts that are causing the issue.

Do the numbers that are supplying duplicates have specific number structures, say like +44 etc or (+44)?

Thanks for the reply Jake!

I believe they all have the same number. Its just that somedays I will recieve messages under one message head, and other days in another one. Somtimes I'll even get a message, reply, and I'll recieve the next reply in another message head. Could it be that these are my mots popular numbers, and that each message head is at capacity or something?
