MTP Driver Issue

Hello,

I seem to be having problems connecting my Xperia Play to my computer in MTP mode.

It has worked in the past but recently would not connect to PC Companion and when I checked Device Manager the phone was listed with an exclamation mark. I've tried uninstalling the device from Device Manager and allowed it to reinstall but now it fails to install the driver.

Any help would be appreciated 🙂

P.S. Not sure if it makes a differfence but I'm running Windows 7 64bit with Service Pack 1

I actually don't have any problems with Sony PC Companion.

I am right now connected through USB and Connection Mode is set to Wireless (MTP/IP). And I am Updating Device.

It takes too much time but I understand coz there is allot of things.

Hey there

I am currently getting a problem with code 0x8007047F , after the MTP download and installation Win7 x64 ... Also I formatted my pc 3 days ago and teh drivers/program was working perfectly until then ! so my guess is your end , the MTP downloadable files , it can't be my phone/pc/cable since i was just using it ... please fix this , the ( previous ) easy interface was perfect ! Slightly_smiling_Face
( The whole message is : Operation Failed with 0x8007047F
The specified program is not a Windows or MS-DOS program. )

Thanks in advance !

I read the complete thread and found that there are some 5-6 different types of solutions (or should we call them 'GUESSES') provided. And I tried them all without success.

And in the end, one day, my xperia z was installed successfully as before (when I had installed Win7 64 bit afresh). That means, there is no particular bug recognised and solution provided by sony yet. It all are guesses. There may be a chance that one fits you and may be not. (Whoever successfully implements a guess, starts swearing by that).

So, guys, go experiment with your luck.
