MS Exchange Email Client not opening

In my Sony Xperia Z1 - Android V 4.4.2 - the Exchange email client is not opening. My systems support folks have managed to configure the mail properly and the connectivity to our company mail server has also been established. But I am not able to open the mail ciient....i.e. when I try to click it, I get the message "Unfortunately, mail has stopped working' ; I don't have any problem with my Gmail clients thouugh. As I understand, there is some other app running in my phone that is killing the mail app. How do I get this resolved ?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Please try this:

Main Menu > Settings > Apps > All > Email > Clear data.

You will unfortunately need to setup the application again once this is done.

The option to clear data is greyed out on my Xperia z1 and I am having the same problem. It was never like this.

Everything was working 100% the way it was supposed to but when i woke up this morning, it was bringing up the "Unfortunately, Email has stopped" error every 30seconds to a minute, regardless of whether I am in the App or not.

Please help with this error, it is extrememly tedious having to close the error message each time before being able to continue with what i was doing.

I have found a solution to the problem. (Well a solution in some form anyway)

I seem to have the problem when i have 2 accounts linked to my Email app. I deleted both and only set up 1 account, the problem went away. As soon as I added the second account, the error messages returned.

Still only a temporary solution though because now i can't sync the other accounts emails to my phone 😕
