Missing Software?

When I first got my phone and was getting used to Android (was an apple user) I managed to throw my music to a player I have. Since that day I've not been able to repeat the feat. When i go into settings on the walkman page the phone does not recognise anything on my network except the wi-fi itself.

I did some research and discovered there is supposed to be a 'media server settings' tab under "more"in the settings app. This doesn't exist on my phone so what am i supposed to do? Could I have accidently removed this piece of software?

can you take a screenshot of the menu and post here

also have you looked using the app sony smart connect

smart connect doesn't work either.

I am very puzzled by this - the only thing you can do is perform an update repair using SUS

also are you using any utilities or phone managers - if so remove them they are not needed - battery task - memory - apps - antivirus etc - remove them all, they can interfere with normal functions of android

backup your phone before using SUS and do not restore until you check that it is working properly

Okay, did as you said, backed up and used SUS. This cured the problem, I now have the ability to throw again. The only problem is the back-up system is rubbish. All the apps i'd downloaded have to be re-downloaded, my ringtones for messages have gone and the contacts had to be re-synced. The set up of icons had also gone back to default.

Anyway thanks for the help now I can get back to playing my music!

I agree. The backup need to be able to backup apps & their data as well. An option for low level backup would be good to have so that user can restore previous system if their update or repair fail.
