While the phone memory is 754 MB (328 MB apps & 413 MB free) - 13 MB deficit.
Internal storage reads as 2,15 GB (105 MB apps, 76 MB Pictures/ Videos, 15 MB Audios and downloads; but only 662 MB available - summing up to 862 MB approx) - where is the remaining 1.2 GB (deficit)?? Isn't it an anomaly?
I'm guessing it's your operating system thats using the extra
Also bear in mind that the way memory is read by computer systems for every 1GB you need to add an extra 73MB due to the way binary is read
Example
Computers don't understand GB they understand GiB standing for GibiByte not GigaByte
So to convert GiB to GB = 1GiB = 1.073GB
Can it be as high as 1.2 GB is my doubt.
Seems quite high. But I am not so knowledgable about software (or even hardware for that matter) and am quite reassured by your reply.
Here is what Wiki says:
http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Android_Memory_Analysis#Summary_Note
Minimum memory space required is 256 MB (runtime), so may be if I can optimise it and make it lean I should be able to free a couple of hundred MBs?
There are different thing allocating parts of the memory. Hopefully you can get some better understanding looking at the Sola threads which this first was being discussed.
