Hello team!
I've just got Z5 Dual and try to connect to my car multimedia (Alpine ICS-X8) via Mirrorlink. The connection gets established quickly. But only one application works while connected - GoogleMaps. Closing GoogleMaps closes the connection as well. I think it is not correct, as the Mirrorlink protocol supposed to be agnostic to application running on a phone: it should just - yes - "mirror" the application.
The same Alpine unit worked fine with Nokia N7 phone.
Could you suggest what can I do with the phone, so the car multimedia unit shows other applications, not just GoogleMaps?
Android 6.0.1
assembly version 32.2.A.0.253
Thank you!
Hi,
To work with MirrorLink, the app must be MirrorLink enabled. I'm afraid not all apps works with MirrorLink.
For more information and a list of apps, see this link: http://www.mirrorlink.com/apps
Thank you for the answer. I will try a few apps from the list you shared, hoping that will work.
At the same time, Nokia phone was replicated "one-to-one" on car multimedia display - messages, cartoons, navigation apps, AngryBirds: all that stuff was reproduced without a problem. I doubt it was Nokia policy to host only "Mirrorlink-enabled" applications. ))
Great, i hope you'll find the apps you need there.
I haven't seen that before but i'm not familiar with the operating system used in Nokia N7. It must work differently compared to Android in this regard. As i understand it, this is because MirrorLink ensures that apps used while driving conform to industry guidelines for minimizing driver distraction.
