Mirrorlink and charging

Hello all.

I'm using a Sony XAV601BT head unit in my car and an Xperia Z smartphone.

My phone is never charging. Even if I put luminosity to minimum.

1h of mirrorlink usage is 10% bettery, even if the phone is connected to a powersource.

Do you plan to do something on this ?

It is not a power problem of the headunit, I tried to use an Y usb cable (one side connected to the phone, one to the radio, one to 2A usb power).

I would be interested for an answer on this issue.  Did you find one elsewhere since your post?

(I'm currently investigating for mirrorlink solutions  compatible with my Xperia Z)

Since mirrorlink use USB for protocol communication, I was also wondering how the phone can simultaneously recharge it's battery, specially when using application involving high battery usage (like GPS navigation)

Not sure but this may have to do with the phones USB-connection mode. If you connect the phone to a car that dooesn't support MTP the phone will usually not get any charging.

Try inserting a microSD in the phone and then select MSC under Settings -> Xperia -> USB Connectivity -> USB connection mode. Note that you need a microSD as the internal memory can't use MSC. The internal memory always uses MTP.
