Mini x10 loses SIM connection on standby...

Hey all,

I recently got the Mini x10 and have noticed a problem with the SIM card. Every so often when the phone is in Standby mode and I go to unlock it with the far left button, there are 2 icons on the top notifications bar showing that the SIM card is not detected and as a result the no signal icon is present too. When I press the button to unlock, the PIN screen appears. When I put the PIN in, everything goes back to normal, the SIM is recognised and the signal comes back. It does this maybe twice a day, but is annoying as I could potentially be missing calls etc if it is in standby mode but the SIM is not detected.

I've searched google/forums etc and seen familiar things but a bit worse as the users had to restart their phones.

Just wondering if anyone has the same problem, or knows of a fix for this?

I've got the same problem (but I have to turn mine off and back on again to fix), only had the phone a few days and I also get the no sims or signal (red cross on screen).  I've taken the sims card out loads of times and wiped (it is a brand new sims card).  Any ideas from anyone would be great.....other than that great phone!

I am only repeating what Tmobile UK customer service centre told me when I got the phone and it couldn't detect the sim.... bend it very gently and very slightly to improve the contact between sim and phone.  I was a bit scared doing this but gave it a go and it worked, altho on occasion I get the no sim detected thing but as soon as I swipe and unlock it finds it.

Yeah I saw that advice on a thread the other day and tried it. I think it's made it slightly better, but it's lost connection once or twice since then, but as always the connection is found when you unlock it. Would be helpful if the SE people responded having sent them a direct email...

Ye I saw that advise too tried it and didn't make any difference. Spoke to T-Mobile last night and they are saying the phone is faulty (only had it a week) so am going to try and follow that route and get a replacement.
