Hi,
I have Dino Lite digital USB microscope camera ( model am4115zt ), and I use it with an app to use the microscope OTG with a tablet or smartphone ( http://www.dinolite.us/mobilescope )
At the basics, the app does work on the Z2 tablet, the microscope is recognized OTG and I get its image on the tablet's screen, but there is an issue where I start seeing severe frame drops and garbage frames when the dino lite microscope is focused for a sharp image.
I've already mailed with the developer of the app, and he found that the microscope's power consumption is increased by 5 to 10 % when the microscope is focused. He assumes the slight increase in power consumption might affect the tablet's performance and thus would cause the frame drops and garbage frames. Furthermore, the amount of contrast and detail in the observed subject also seems to affect it.
The app is optimized for Google Nexus devices but the website states that it may also be compatible with other recent devices (the z2 tablet is certainly a very recent device). So at this moment, it is semi-compatible with the z2 tablet.
Is this frame dropping and garbage frames during the 5 to 10 % increased power consumption something that can be fixed through software/firmware optimizations? Or is it hardware limitation of the z2 tablet causing me to never be able to properly use my microscope with this tablet? I'd like to know!
Thank you in advance.
Here are two videos that shows exactly what happens:

Hi. The problem descibed in that link doesn't have much to do with the problem I am having; both the tablet and the app recognize the USB microscope, but the image from the microscope will become regularly corrupted under the conditions where the microscope's power consumption is increased 5-10 %. I have used two different micro USB OTG adapter cables, same result with both of them. Things such as a mouse, keyboard, USB stick work just fine with either adapter cable. The microscope itself is fine since it has no issues when using it with a PC.
I just think that the power is not enough. You could ask a staff member:
