I have just purchased a Verbatim 16gb MicrSDHC card Class 10, the card is being picked up by the Z1, and formats correctly; it also can be seen by the phone.

The problem I have, is trying to transfer data from phone memory, to the SD card (either pictures or audio data).  It seems to stop randomly during transfer, this happens however miuch data I am trying to transfer (and never transfers files).  This is also applicable when transfering from a PC through to the SD card whilst in the phone.  The card works perfectly well when directly connected to a PC (not in the z1) and you can transfer files instantly.

I have tried multiple versions of the same card and the same errors occour.  Any help would be appreciated.

I had this problem as well. I contacted Sony they told me I had to download a file manager program to transfer files from internal to sd card. Hope this helps. I was told to download Astro file manager.

I have never had such an issue with sandisk cards, but that being said, this could also just be an issue with your phone/os.

Please install a third party app such as astro or FX to try and copy the information over. If it hangs you need to repair your phones software using sony's Software update service to see if that works. 

I would also just out of curiousity ask you to try a sandisk card before you carry out this update.. if it works i would be pleasantly surprised.

I have tried a file manager as posted above,  this morning, and it has crashed as well whilst trying to transfer.  I shall now be looking for another SD card to see if this has the same problem.  Will update when I get one.

Update:  I have just tried another SD card from another company.  A 2gb one and I have had the same problem.  I am now going to phone Sony to see what is happening.

I have spoken to Sony regarding this (over net chat), they told me to do a full software reinstall to see if the problem fixes it.  

I had a few errors on the reinstall and still the memory card does not work.   Asking the net chat people after this, they have told me to take it back to who I bought it from as I may need a new one.
