I just got an Xperia SP. I bought an MHL adapter and used a 12' HDMI cable to test sending the image to my tv. It worked well. I then tried the same with a NEC projector at the school where I work : "No signal". I then tried again on my tv at home : "No signal" this time...
What could be the cause of this problem, or how can I troublesshoot it?
By another connector, do you mean another MHL adaptor? If so, that means shedding another 20$ just to test it out... But still, what could explain that it first worked on the tv, and then not on the second attempt?
before you buy another adaptor, try to reset MHL settings to confirm that the one you have is faulty or its just the device acting up best to get from sony store online the MHL adapter
P.s the projector might not be mirror link certified
I think I just figured out something maybe very basic... (This is my 1st time using MHL).
Does the MHL adaptor need to be plugged to an electrical outlet as well as to the phone and tv in order to work? I thought it wasn't necessary so I didn't plug it on my first 3 attempts. I just tried again and plugged the current and it now works again in the tv! I guess I'll try again this way on the projector on Monday...
