Just received the IM750 MHL adapter yesterday. I ordered the Sony MHL adapter to avoid compatibility problems and expected it to work flawlessly with the Xperia Z.
When I use it to connect my Xperia Z phone to my Philips philips 37 pfl 5603d / 10 TV the screen is mirrored via the HMDI cable.
I however have the following issues:
1. In most cases I get no sound via the HDMI cable.
-However when I switch off the TV, then start playing music or video on the Xperia and then switch on the TV I get sound and it keeps playing.
-But when I switch to another application e.g. Walkman to Youtube or the video ends and I replay I do not get sound again.
To me this seems not a cabling issue, but an Xperia X software issue.
As a workaround I can use the headphone jacket, but this is not what I intended to get.
2. When I connect using MHL and play a movie the battery is drained instead of charged although the standard
Xperia Z power adapter is connected. This limits the usefullness of MHL. Would using another USB adapter
delivering more power (e.g. from iPad) solve this issue.
So far MHL experience is a disappointment.
