I recently purchased an Xperia Neo and received the Sony Ericsson MH650 handsfree headset in the box. Whenever I plug the headset in the phone, an "Accessory not supported" message pops up and sound continues to play through the phones speakers as though no earphones are connected. I have checked the devices with which the MH650 headset is compatible, on the website. The list definitely includes the Xperia Neo. I have also updated my device software to the latest version. Rebooting also doesn't have any effect.
Can someone please tell me why the headset will not work with my phone?
