Messaging problems

my phone is receiving the messages,but not showing in notifications,it is being stored there.later when i am selecting that particular recipient for messaging,then it is showing all the messages together,which has been received much before.what should i do?please help.its a serious problem.

Go to messages app-settings-see if notification light is on.

Tap on the message application(screen or menu app)-tap on the third sensitive button from left to right(settings)-there you should find notification light.
