message wont send on x8?

hi i have a xperia x8 for almost 10 months on vodafone network.

when i first bought fone it would not allow me to send messages so i brought it back to the shop where she gave me a new sim card and the problem was resolved, however i have experienced the same problem again and again and back to the shop where they give me a new sim card. it has happened again and im wondering is their any way i could resolve the problem myself. if i put the sim into an ordinary fone i have no problem sending the message. it wont allow me to enter an sms centre number??

Thanks

I suggest performing a repair on the handsets software using PC Companion. Please use the link below to download this software.

PC Companion:

you probably have a LOT of sms/mms stored on your Messaging app, if you don't care to back them up do a factory reset

settings -> privacy -> factory reset you will lose all your apps contacts etc

if you want to backup everything this is how

Use one of these links to download the Backup & Restore app

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193802

or

on your computer
-> download the file -> go to your gmail -> click on contacts -> click on more actions -> on the drop down menu click on "import" -> choose the file -> and click import

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.zegoggles.smssync&feature=search_result

or your SMS use
