Message tone problem

I am having xperia p since a week and I have updated it to ICS. During an incoming message, notification tone does not ring. Please help.

Do you have any other messaging app's installed? You could try to run the hone in safe mode to check if this might be caused by any third party application.

If not I suggest that you try to run a software reinstall using SUS.

Also check to make sure that you actually have assigned a notification tone. Settings > Sounds > "RINGTONE & NOTIFICATIONS" tab. Make sure that "Default Notification" isn't silent.
