open the messaging app > menu > settings > uncheck vibrate notification

Whenever you set your phone on vibrate mode you should be able to get a notification (vibration) only when the phone its on vibrate mode
That's the problem. If I uncheck the vibration option in messaging app > menu > settings, the vibration is totally gone. No vibration for messages in vibrate mode or any other mode. Phone only vibrates on calls.
The only way to get the phone to vibrate for messages is to turn it on in messaging app > menu > settings. But then again, it also vibrates in ringing mode.
I've even tried to repair the phone. Am I really the only one having this issue after the JellyBean update?
Do you have your phone on silent mode or vibrate mode?
The phone is in vibrate mode. In messaging app > settings > vibrate is turned OFF. The phone does not vibrate when I get a message. When I switch the phone to ringing mode, I hear the notification when I get a message.
If I turn ON vibration in messaging app > settings, then I get a vibration when I receive a message. But the problem is, when I put the phone to ringing mode, I still get a vibration along with the sound when I receive a message. This is what I'm trying to avoid.
So basically this is what I am trying to achieve:
Ringing mode : Only sound notification when messages are received
Vibration mode: Vibration when messages are received.
Silent mode: Only LED notification.
Hope this is clear enough.
Your phone its acting up, you are supposed to get a vibration notification if your phone is in vibrate mode
Obviously! And that is what I'm trying to fix. Has anyone had this issue and had it fixed? As I mentioned, I've repaired the phone, but it's still the same and this only started after the Jelly Bean update.
Can't believe such a basic function is not working.
What if you try a different messaging app?
also you could repair your phone
