Message Notifications in lock screen

I just got the Xperia Z and when i received a message the screen doesnt light up or anything well only the LED does but that isnt enough to let me know there is a message. Is there a setting so i can receive message notifications in the lock screen or to make the screen light up when i received one. Also when you receive the message can you make it that when you receive it, it will just pop up if your in an app or anything and you can dismiss it?

there is a message ringtone you can set and the led flashes  a particular colour to let you know

maybe Sony should have equiped this phone with arms and legs - it could then run across the room and whack you on the head when you get a message

there may be other message apps with more features

Well yeah im serious as iv had this comment from quite a few customers aswell and being former iphone users, its alot more convient to have messages light up your phone rather than a small LED. So my question is does it or not?

I'm not going to look for you - if it doesn't then there might be an app that does on playstore
