Hi,
I use a Truphone UK sim card on an old Nokia, and when I was in Australia a couple of years ago I couldn't send SMS text messages. The Truphone helpdesk were great and talked me through changing the Message Centre Number.
Thinking of buying an Xperia Z1 Compact so just want to know if it's possible to change Message Centre Numbers and also APN details in case I have problems next time I travel abroad.
The only reason I ask is that I read somewhere that these numbers are stored on the sim card and some phones don't let you change them.
Thanks,
Some old guy.
If it's Generic then yes - Open Settings then under Xperia Connectivity tap on More then open Mobile networks then open Access Point Names then tap the plus symbol upper right corner to manually add new settings
This is something I have seen before, in most cases this can easily be fixed by forcing the handset to source the number from the SIM again:
Power the handset off > remove and reinsert SIM > Power handset back on.
