Message app keeps crashing

Hi I've had the z2 for a week and a half and more times than not when I try to access and read a message it's incredibly slow to open and comes up with a black screen saying that it's not responding. I then have to manually shut down the app and reopen to read it. Other than that it'a painfully slow to actually send a message.
Any help would be much appreciated! It's so frustrating!!

Are you using the stock messaging app or some 3rd party app?

If you are using the stock app I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion..

Before repairing your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to.

If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

Before a software repair,try settings-apps-all-messages,force stop and clear data.

Hi, I've tried doing both and neither has helped. When I tried force stopping the message app and clearing data all it did was remove the ringtone I had and restore it to factory ringtone. Aside from that all messages have remained and it even seems slower now!

I did a complete factory data reset and it's come up with the same issue
